We spent three chilly days in our Nation's Capitol touring the sites, riding the Metro just being tourists.

The Air & Space museum was a nice treat. It was fascinating to see the rockets, space station, and vintage air planes.

Of all the things we saw, the Museum of Natural History was my favorite, in particular the Orchid exhibit. I knew that orchids came in many types and varieties, but to see so many up close was a real treat!

We also took the tourmobile and saw the Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam & Korean Veterans War Memorials, the White House, Smithsonian Castle and other places.

If the batteries wouldn't have kept escaping from the camera (and thus resetting the date), everything would have been peachy

Wow I haven't been to DC in YEARS ... I mean, absolute aeons. Your photos make me want to do a museum tour of the US ... I love doing the tourist thing! Good job! Fri 8-Apr-2005 15:22

My 'Green' House

The weather is still a bit crazy here in North Texas but I'm determined to get my garden going this year. Last week was lovely with 70-80 degree temperatures, this week pales in comparison with highs of 48! Being that its not really safe to plant anything outside yet, I set up a greenhouse in the garage. It was pretty inexpensive and after two days, the Zinnias, Ageretum and Hostas are already sprouting seedlings! Now I just hope they survive

Where the w33d at? I know u growing w33d in there somewhere... Mon 28-Mar-2005 22:10

Our trip to the Bahamas couldn't have come at a better time. We were home all of 10 hours from our Houston trip before it was time to hop on a 5:30 am flight! We stayed at the Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach, an all inclusive resort on the southeastern coast of Grand Bahama Island. The island is beautiful, the people are friendly and easy-going, the pace is slow which all add up to the perfect place to get away and relax. After such an action packed year, relaxing was just the thing we needed to do! We saw a few of the sights, ate cracked conch (yummy!), listened to Junkanoo music, and strolled the beach. Needless to say, we had a great time and look forward to going back soon!

i absolutely LOVE the photo of you two on the balcony - it's making me "awwwwwwww" over here Tue 11-Jan-2005 23:33

We spent our first Christmas as a married couple in Houston with my family. We typically have a good time down in Houston and this trip was no different! This trip was particularly special because I was able to spend the holiday with both my mom and dad in the same place--that hasn't happened in over 20 years! It was great to not have the added stress of dividing time between households, I'm proud of them and truly appreciate their cooperativeness! My sister and her family joined us also--we ate a great meal, played games, joked around and took a few photos. We also took in a Rockets game at the lovely new Toyota Center! It was a Merry Christmas indeed!

All of your sister's boys are adorable ... and I am LOVING your cute 'do! Tue 11-Jan-2005 23:25

We decided that since we no longer have wedding expenses, that we'd devote some resources to sprucing up things around the house. In addition to purchasing a new bedroom suit, we also re-did our living room. I'm pleased with the way things turned out, but I doubt I'll ever make my own curtains ever again!

The Mister's Birthday

Thats my wedding tiara, he's a good sport.
Say cheese!
I'm stuffed!
My darling hubby turned 34 years old on the 14th. To celebrate, I took him out to dinner at Texas de Brazil where he stuffed himself full of yummy lobster bisque. Here's his pic after dinner!

Corsicana vs. Ennis

Trying to see some of the play action...
Not quite tall enough to see anything...
Nephew Brandon, me and lovely sister in law, Michelle
We drove down to Corsicana for some Friday Night Lights. It was the last game for the Corsicana football team and happened to be against one of their biggest rivals, Ennis. The stadium was absolutely packed and the night air was crisp. Our nephew Kendall plays on the team (Corsicana) so we were there to support him! It looked as if Ennis would have bragging rights for the upcoming year, but Corsicana pulled it out in the final seconds of the fourth quarter--thank you Ennis for getting those penalties!

June 5, 2004 was quite a special day...

I turned 30 years old and got married all on the same day! The day began quite early for an 11 am wedding, but it flew by like a whirlwind! I felt like a true princess walking down the aisle, escorted by my dapper dad. Our groomsmen and bridesmaids were looking great and James stood at the altar with a tear streaming down his face. It was so emotional and beautiful! What a blessing it is to be loved, adored and cherished by a special someone, but to also celebrate the moment in a beautiful place with tons of family and friends. My grandmother even surprised me by being there and the mister sang a special song just for me. Our wedding was spectacular! The Hall was absolutely beautiful, our guests were looking spiffy, the food was delicious and most importantly, everyone had a fantastic time! Here are a few pics taken by our guests from the guest cameras. Enjoy!

I couldn't have said it better myself - you two are truly blessed, and I'm convinced it was He who brought you together. You two deserve all the happiness in the world, and I'm absolutely certain that you'll have the rest of your lives to enjoy each other. I had a fabulous time at your mitzvah (ask the Mister what that means) ... and I am honoured that you asked me to be a part of your bridal party. Thank you!! Mazel Tov! Sun 20-Jun-2004 16:03
